Ok, I took a week off and I’m catching up on my posts but watch out for Episode #5 tonight. Detective Cole comes face to face with his hidden past when a fellow detective is shot, while Detective Leo Banks tries to defy fate by stopping a string of bus robberies.
In an attempt to expose a wider audience to The Unusuals, ABC has decided to show 2 brand new episodes this week. You can catch “One Man Band” on Tuesday night (Apr 21) where Detective Banks and Delahoy run into a unique undercover gig while Casey is reminded that personal favors can get in the way on investigations. On Wednesday night 9apr 22), you can tune in to see “Crime Slut,” where Beaumont tries to hide her personal finance problems after getting caught in the middle of a pawn shop robbery.
TV Guide caught up with The Unusuals Harold Perrineau to discuss his change from Michael on Lost to Detective Leo Banks on The Unusuals. Since he’s still in the ABC family, he can always make the junp back to the island.
I know, I know. The Unusuals is just starting to show it’s promise and the ratings are showing no love. This week the show lost about 600,000 viewers down to 6.1M. Lost continues to be depressed and is certainly not helping. The show’s mini plots are showing the funnier side of such a serious profession while the backgrounds of the regulars are unfolding nicely. This week we learned that Detective Walsh switched from a professional baseball player to officer after his girlfriend was killed by some dishonest bettors. Meanwhile Walsh ended the show wrapped around a gorgeous Detective “Uncle” Beaumont. Tell some friends. This show has a chance if word gets out.
Here’s a sneak peek into a few seconds of tonight’s 2nd episode for the Unusuals. The Boorland family is on a crime spree and it’s up to the 2nd precinct to slow them down. Detective Henry Cole is also uncomfortable as his former partner in crime shows up to shed light on his past. Give this show a chance as it’s going to grow on you. It just needs an audience. Tune in or set your DVRs to watch it right after Lost.
Adam Goldberg (Det. Eric Delahoy) will be on CBS’ Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight. He’s bound to give some dirt on the cast of the The Unusuals. Tune in after Letterman for this interview (or at least set your DVRs up).

This show is getting good reviews by the those that watch the show that includes Amber Tamblyn, Jeremy Renner, Adam Goldberg and Harold Perrineaux. Everyone loves a mystery with weird, truthful characters. Tell your friends to catch up on The Unusuals and then tune in on Wednesday night right after Lost. Or set your DVRs. Whatever gets you to watch this show. It needs your support.
Even though Lost saw a record low for a new episode, The Unusuals season premiere still pulled in more viewers than Life on Mars did the previous week. Adam Goldberg, Harold Perrineau and Jeremy Renner all looked well casted and ready for the challenge of a new police dramedy. Amber Tamblyn looked great and had her moments (especially when dressing down her former prep school buddy in the Men’s room). The quest to get to the secrets behind the enigma of the fallen officer was well done and really pulled me in. The pilot episode for any new series has a tendency to jam in as much action and characters as possible to familiarize the audience with all of the players. I really want to see more dialogue and less cliches in order for this series to survive. Let’s tune in for Episode 2 and see what unfolds.

Tonight is the night folks, ABC’s new cop drama The Unusuals premieres at 10pm eastern after Lost. The Unusuals Episode 1 spoiler goes like this, Det. Casey Shraeger played by Amber Tamblyn has worked vice unit her whole career until a fellow officer was murdered. She is quickly transferred to homicide to aid in the investigation of the murder to find out if he was a dirty cop. While in the homicide unit Casey begins to find out some interesting facts about her new co-workers and the 2nd precinct.
